How to Take Care of the Floor Tiles

Flooring of the house is a major factor in determining the look of the house. When a person decides to build or renovate his house, choosing the right flooring tiles is must. Unlike the color of the walls or the decoration of the house, floorings are not changed every now and then. This is the reason why most of the home owners or the builders try to obtain such flooring option which can last for long without getting damaged or losing its sheen. But if not taken care of well, any floor tile material can lose its shiny texture and look.

Taking care of the floor tiles is rather easy then most of the home makers think. One just has to keep few things in find and take care of the flooring tiles. Flooring tiles are available in different materials like glazed ceramic tiles, natural stone tiles made of marble, granite or sandstone. All these materials have different care regime which should be followed appropriately. Taking care and keeping the natural stone like new is not as easy as it seems.

Natural stones are prone to get damaged due to small factors like heat and exposure to water. They can also develop scratches or even cracks. Get your tiles sealed with good sealant to avoid scratches. Sealant will protect the tiles from exposure to water as well. Floor tiles can get eroded due to walking on it thus one must reseal them from time to time. Cleaning the tiles is a must to keep dirt and soil away from them, thus clean them on daily basis. Do not use harsh chemical based cleaner for cleaning the tiles. Most of the cleaners have alcohol in it which can affect its shiny appearance or even make them dull.

Instead of cleaner use mild detergent mixed with water and cleans the floor tiles with soft sponge based wipes. They will clean the tiles and keep them protected as well. Moreover place floor protectors under your furniture and plants, if they are on the natural stone floor tiles. Use these tips and keep your flooring looking like new forever.
